Inspirational talk for Year 11

Wednesday marked the start of an exciting and important year for our Year 11 students at OHA with our Year 11 Conference.

Students took part in sessions designed to help them prepare for the year ahead, including exploring post-16 courses and pathways, with local colleges sharing valuable advice on researching their next steps and future opportunities and a session delivered by Higher Horizons about effective revision techniques.

We were also delighted to welcome Kheron Gilpin, who delivered an inspiring motivational talk, encouraging our students to aim high. Our 2025 alumni, Millie Rafferty and Abbie Golinski, also joined us to share their experiences of studying for GCSEs, life at college, and the lessons they learned along the way.

The day concluded with our special Year 11 Tie Giving Ceremony, marking the beginning of their final year as proud OHAers.

It was a fantastic and successful day, with our Year 11 students engaged, motivated, and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the year ahead. We can’t wait to see all they achieve.
