Equality & Diversity

At Ormiston Horizon Academy we see it as our responsibility to treat others with respect. Equality and diversity are fundamental to our core beliefs and values – we welcome pupils and staff from all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, disabilities, and backgrounds. We welcome diversity and acknowledge that our differences bring value to our Academy.

Equality

Equality means treating everyone with fairness and respect and recognising the needs of individuals. Ormiston Horizon Academy ensures that we promote an understanding of equality amongst its student body and through pastoral care.

Diversity

Diversity acknowledges that there are differences between people. Ormiston Horizon Academy values and respects our variety of backgrounds, perspectives and beliefs – we understand that our school is representative of our wider community and that the skills we learn here are directly applicable to life after OHA. We celebrate the strength that our diversity brings.
