Safeguarding

The academy provides a pleasant and inclusive environment for pupils. As a result, pupils feel safe at the academy. There is an effective pastoral system that pupils refer to when asked about how safe they feel. They are secure in the knowledge that adults will intervene and help them should they have a problem. The school deals with bullying swiftly and effectively. Pupils are well informed about what constitutes bullying and are clear about how it affects those who are bullied.”

At OHA, we provide an inspirational and ambitious learning journey to enable all our students to achieve beyond their Horizons. Our ethos and values welcome all students into the OHA family where we can all work together in a partnership to support the individual needs of all the members of our OHA community.

At OHA, we take our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students seriously. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued.

All staff are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect: following procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection. Through our ethos and curriculum, we promote a common sense of identity and support diversity showing our students how different communities can be united by common experiences and values. Strict adherence to the Safeguarding Policy is mandatory for all staff, governors, visitors and volunteers in the academy and is not subject to individual discretion.
