Celebration as students achieve GCSE success

There were smiles and celebrations at Ormiston Horizon Academy this morning as students collected their GCSE results, the culmination of two years of determination and hard work.

We have seen our Year 11 students achieve across the board and secure exciting next steps in further education and training.

The Year 11 cohort achieved particularly highly in a range of subjects including physical education, hospitality and catering, statistics and performing arts

While there are celebrations across the academy, some standout successes include:

  • Jared, who successfully achieved grade 9s in business studies, English language, maths and science and grade 8s in statistics, geography and English literature
  • Grace, one of the academy’s most hard working and resilient students, achieved a Merit in health and social care, a grade 6 in English language and a grade 5 in history
  • Ryley, who obtained a grade 8 in history and grade 7s in English literature, business studies, maths and science
  • The wonderfully talented Maisie who contributed significantly to Horizon’s performing arts productions over her time at the academy achieved a Distinction* in her performing arts qualification, alongside a grade 8 in physical education and grade 7s in history and English language

Ormiston Horizon Academy continues to be a place where ambition, support and opportunity go hand in hand. As part of Ormiston, the academy is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.

Andy Fitzgibbon, Principal at Ormiston Horizon Academy, said:

“We’re so proud of our students, they’ve put in so much effort and it’s fantastic to see that hard work pay off. Today’s results show just how determined they’ve been, supported every step of the way by our amazing staff team. I very much look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve next.”
