Empowering girls football
Our Year 11 girls recently took part in an inspiring “Your Game” empowering girls in football event at Staffordshire University. The day was led by the Staffordshire FA and focused on the wide range of career pathways available within the sport.
Throughout the event, our students worked alongside some of the top coaches in the region to complete several specialised workshops. These sessions covered key areas of the game, including:
- Coaching and Refereeing: Developing leadership skills on the pitch.
- Media and Leadership: Exploring how the sport is represented and managed.
- Sports Science and Psychology: Gaining insight into the physical and mental demands of elite football.
The group represented the academy brilliantly, engaging with every challenge and showing a real interest in the future of the women’s game. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to see the diverse opportunities available in football beyond just playing.
Well done to everyone involved for their hard work and for being such excellent ambassadors for the school!
