Trainer day fundraiser

Well done to all who took part in OHA Trainer Day today to help former student Ashley Morans’ fundraising efforts for Marie Curie!

We are thrilled to announce that the academy managed to raise over £468. Ashley will be summiting the highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal, to raise funds for Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. Marie Curie supports people affected by any terminal illness, such as dementia (including Alzheimer’s), motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, heart diseases, and advanced cancer.

Mr. Fitzgibbon commented: “We are very proud of Ashley’s achievements and we are delighted to be able to support this fantastic cause. During his time at Ormiston Horizon Academy, Ashley was always at the centre of our school community and was involved in a number of social action projects. I am not surprised this passion and enthusiasm have carried on into his next chapter. We are thrilled that so many students and staff have supported the initiative, and we know the money is going to a very good place.”
