Well done to our Year 9 Industrial Cadets team who graduated this week from the bronze STEM-based programme. Industrial Cadets is a national industry-led accreditation designed to enhance workplace experiences for young people. Industrial Cadets works with UK employers to create a talent pipeline and a future skilled workforce, whilst helping young people to develop the skills they need to enter industry with confidence.
Our Year 9 team of Joe, Rhuben, Tristan, Oliver, Dylan and Finn worked on a project to tackle plastic waste. The groups’ project was based on developing the use of state-of-the-art biodegradation techniques to freeze and recycle plastic items into plastic pellets to make them usable in industry. Students created a full 3-dimensional design alongside a written report and video presentation of their ideas. The team met with judges last week who gave them some great feedback, well done all.
