Artificial Intelligence Workshop

A group of Year 7 and 8 students recently had the opportunity to learn about the fascinating field of artificial intelligence (AI). The students took part in an introductory course with EDT that covered a range of topics related to AI, including internet security and programming mini robots to perform tasks.

During the course, students learned about the importance of internet security, which is a critical issue in today’s digital age. They learned about the risks associated with sharing personal information online and how to stay safe while using the internet. Students also learned about the different types of cyber threats that exist, such as phishing scams and malware, and how to protect themselves against them.

In addition to learning about internet security, students also had the chance to work with mini robots and learn how to program them to perform tasks. This hands-on experience allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the basics of AI and how it can be used in everyday life.

By the end of the course, students had a newfound appreciation for the power of AI and how it can be used to solve complex problems. They also had a greater understanding of the importance of internet security and how to stay safe online.

Overall, the introductory AI course was a great success, and it provided students with a unique opportunity to learn about one of the most exciting fields in technology today. It is hoped that this experience will inspire many of these young students to pursue careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) based industries.
