Horizon #WeWillCook gets underway

Since the launch in September, students have been involved in numerous activities which link with the new initiative; #WeWill Cook. Lessons in Design & Technology (Food) has seen creations of cakes and pinwheels, PSHE has included leadership training and enrichment opportunities are now becoming available; the first gardening club will be held at Packmoor next week with the leadership team.

These students will be the driving force of the upcoming projects and will be fantastic leaders for the Primary Schools taking part in the project; Thursfield and Packmoor.

October will see our first fundraising event, which has participation from everyone at the Academy, but overseen by the Year 8 cohort. This will continue our support to the Macari Centre, Stoke.
November and December will have our first transition events with every Y4 student at both Primary schools being given the opportunity to use the cooking facilities at OHA in a Christmas biscuit-themed event. 

December will also see our first cooking fundraising event, where our leadership team, alongside staff, will be preparing and cooking meals for delivery to the Macari Centre.
